PPC Strategist for 93digital & 93x, our specialist B2B tech digital marketing team.
2. What does an average day for you look like?
Optimising PPC activity across managed accounts, developing strategy for clients around how they can increase leads and make their budget go further, talking to clients about business priorities and learning more about their business.
3. What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Every client is very different and often the service they’ll provide will be very niche, ensuring PPC activity is bespoke to each client and capturing the right sort of users is the most challenging but also the most interesting part of my job.
4. Any advice for those who want to do what you do?
Be curious, ask loads of questions, test and learn!
There is an abundance of online materials from Google, LinkedIn and other areas about learning the basics but it is important to remember every client is unique.
Taking a keen interest in your client’s business will help you understand their individual challenges but also will help you see areas where you can be super helpful and produce great results. Be curious and ask “why?” when looking at the data and if you see any trends think about how you can capitalise on them and test! Finally, talk with other advertisers. I find it amazing the breadth of approaches different advertisers take and it might inspire a solution of your own.
5. What future design and/or technology developments in the industry are you excited about?
Growing automation within the industry. This worries a lot of advertisers, but growing automation from bid strategies & RSAs has completely changed how Google recommends approaching paid search! I think not only does it make the platform more accessible to smaller businesses but also has opened different ways of using PPC and strategy to meet client’s goals which excites me.
6. What are your passions/hobbies/interests?
Running has always been something i’ve enjoyed and a great stress reliever. I’m also a big film fan with anything directed by Tarantino or Wes Anderson as firm favourites. I’ve also been known to bake the odd cinnamon roll from time to time.
7. What’s your favourite thing to read in print/online?
Generally, BBC News/Economist will be my go to news for what’s going on in the world as well as hours scrolling through reddit. For learning what’s happening in the world of PPC, Search Engine Land is a firm favourite.
8. What music is currently trending on your playlist?
When working, I prefer more relaxed tunes and have been really enjoying Alina Baraz, Lana Del Rey & the Neighbourhood recently. When up and about it can range from Nina Simone to Disclosure to Dua Lipa depending on mood.
9. Tell us a random fact about you…
I can’t cross my legs! Is it genetics, not enough stretching or too much lying on the Sofa? I don’t know! But I can touch my toes so riddle me that!
