Online magazine featuring content paywall, resource library and member-only content
Board Agenda is an independent business magazine for NED’s, executives and advisers. WordPress is a popular platform for publishers but the Board Agenda website needed complex functionality such as content protected by a paid subscription paywall, website membership, job boards, resource libraries and a complex content structure. We helped to design and build their online presence, whilst guiding them on how a publisher should best embrace WordPress.
We began by developing the Board Agenda content taxonomy and site structure, before setting off on a completely bespoke mobile-friendly design and build. The site had to reflect the clean, modern and high-end design of the print publication. Meanwhile, we developed clear pathways for achieving the bespoke functionality required behind the site. The site uses a series of customised plugins and bespoke functionality written by us.
A carefully thought through paywall allows all content to be read and crawled by Google’s bots but protects content from unregistered or unsubscribed visitors.
The paywall triggers after a certain number of article views, prompting the user to sign up and become a member of the in order to continue consuming content.
Users can register on the site for free, or join as a full subscriber.
By logging into the site, users have additional benefits and full subscribers have unlimited access to content and the full Board Agenda resources library.
Easy to Use CMS
Being a large and complex WordPress site, ease of use was a priority.
We sculpted WordPress into a highly efficient publishing platform for editors and contributors to be able to easily log in to the Dashboard of the site and add new content, partners, resources, events and more.
Editors can edit access rights to each resource individually in order to control whether it is available to download by different membership levels.
